Moscow asks federal government to cut, abolish restaurant VAT

MOSCOW, Jan 22 (PRIME) -- The Moscow authorities asked the federal government to reduce or abolish value-added tax (VAT) for restaurants, Deputy Mayor for economic policies and property and land relations Vladimir Yefimov told PRIME on Friday.

"We’ve asked the federal government to reduce or fully abolish VAT for the restaurant business, which will help us reduce significantly the burden on the companies and will help them stay afloat in this hard period," Yefimov said.

He added that the Economic Development Ministry supported the proposal.
